John E. Van Fleet Homestead

The Homestead Cabin stood for over 100 years in Wyoming. It was dismantled and fully restored to its original condition. During restoration, a beautiful bathroom complete with antique tub, shower and sink was added. For larger families who need more than 1 tub, the tin washtub still hangs on the side of the cabin. This cabin has a refrigerator, microwave, Satellite TV, Heating and Air Conditioning. It has a pillow top queen bed, a log style bunk bed and a fold down couch. No smoking, no pets please.

Several years ago it collapsed when struck by lightning. This cabin sat on a bluff facing south towards the majestic Uninta Mountains. As I was standing inside the remains of this Pioneer home I could hear the trickle of three artision springs running down the bluff into the creek below. It was easy to feel the history and imagine the couragoues pioneers who dared to venture and settle under these conditions. All the Van Fleets belongings along with their cook stove was brought by way of horse drawn wagon. Information from abstract.
